Translation

I am a Russian-to-English translator who specializes in texts related to the arts. I spent several years working in the Translation Department of The State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg, where I translated the texts that accompanied our exhibitions and provided guidance throughout the localization process as the sole native English speaker on staff.

In 2008, I graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, where I studied Russian language and literature, art history, and writing. I also studied translation theory and linguistics at St. Petersburg State University, and I studied Russian culture and politics at European University at St. Petersburg. I have been working as a translator since 2009. In 2018, I moved to California to study at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in the Translation and Localization Management program, where I have continued my translation studies.

I work primarily with museums, galleries, curators, artists, and academics, but I have also translated legal and marketing texts. I have contributed translations to dozens of books on subjects ranging from the history of Romanovs to Russian cuisine to the most current contemporary art, and I can bring this wide range of expertise and experience from living in Russia and working in the Russian art world to your translation project.
