Welcome!

I’m Vanessa Prolow. In spring 2020, I graduated with a MA with Distinction in Translation and Localization Management from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. Prior to coming to MIIS, I spent many years as a Russian-to-English translator, working both as a freelancer and in-house at the State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg. My time at MIIS has allowed me to explore many areas of localization, and I am currently most interested in project management for the localization of creative content, combining my skills honed as a translator specializing in the arts with the technical and management abilities I have gained at MIIS.

Currently, in addition to my studies, I am the Assistant Secretary and Nonprofit Program Director of Women in Localization. I am also a Localization Project Manager at Translation Commons.
